The Circle of Lorent is an adventure set in a land just outside the reaches of Ehb. Like the original maps in Dungeon Siege, there are many quests and areas of interest. You can expect a good 10 hours of game-play at the very least to complete all the regions and quests included.

Travel to the Lands of Lorent and prepare for a challenging journey! Battle the spiders of the Sacred Valley and the undead of the Dwarven Crypts! Defeat the challenge of Hawk-Ra's Maze and retake the Towers of Radeem! Restore access to the circle of Lorent and destroy the Evil Hawk-Ra!

Have fun and please post your feedback on one of the following forums: http://www.game-editing.net/forum/ http://www.siegenetwork.com/forums/index.php http://forums.dsnetguide.com/index.php http://www.forumplanet.com/planetdungeonsiege/ (Or others - but I daily frequent those 4) You can also email me feedback: trailstorm@onebox.com xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx MAP DETAILS: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Circle of Lorent is an adventure set in a land just outside the reaches of EHB. Like the original maps in Dungeon Siege, there are many quests and areas of interest. You can expect a good 10 hours of game-play at the very least to complete all the regions and quests included. To read more about the story check out the main website: http://www.siegenetwork.com/circleoflorent/ The Circle of Lorent is designed in a way that makes it possible to play the map on several different difficulties. You might notice that there were six resource files included (.dsres files). The three smaller files contain a copy of all the base monsters, chests, and items used in the map. I have edited these bases into progressively harder versions of the monsters, chests, and items. This means that by simply switching the tiny file "COL_Difficulty_CHOICE1_Basic" for a different version, the entire map can be transformed into a more difficult map. It's pretty cool how simple the transformation takes place. I have included in this first release, the "BASIC" difficulty (for Single Player and under level 50 Multi-player characters), as well as the "ADVANCED" and "UBER" settings. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx VERSION HISTORY: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- version 1.0: -Reworked quests and conversations to be more clear and helpful. -Fixed a bug that caused items to be deleted if the character died. -Fixed a bug that causes characters to become useless and invisible if they died wearing custom COL armor. -Fixed some major errors in the object scid numbers for the Fallen Watch regions. -Addressed most of the balance issues in the Fallen Watch. -Added new mage spells - found on Dneirfa nad in the crypts. -Added a new "friggin silly" elite level quest. -Added a new and very special if not down-right famous NPC to the game. -Added several new talking NPC's to help clarify directions. -Fixed a bug in the Multiplayer sequence after Hawk-Ra. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx LEVEL INCREASE ITEMS/ SET ITEMS/ COL KEYS: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Items in The Circle of Lorent which indicate they increase per level - need to be re-equipped after each level gai nin order for the additional bonuses to be calculated. Set items in the Circle of Lorent add specific bonuses when all the items in a set are worn. Keys in COL are used to open the key-lock mechanisms near many crypt or dungeon doors. "The Lorent Stone" and the "Sacred Key of Kings" will "unlock" the displacers if held in the inventory of a character in the party. This means that after completing the map in Single Player - or for the first time in Multiplayer - the displacers can be easily used in subsequent games. As long as a player has the Lorent Stone and the Key of Kings. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx MULTIPLAYER NPCS: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- All the potential party members from the Single Player experience of this siegelet can also be hired in Multiplayer games. HOWEVER, this is only suggested for solo games in MP. When partied with other human players- these NPCs' portrait block out the portraits of human players (this is a GUI issue - the NPC's portraits cover up portraits for human party members. Additionally, You may want to select these NPC's in Multiplayer games, to do this you need to use the F1 and F2 keyboard keys - for example. (Ctrl-D is used to keystroke a dismissal of a selected part member) xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx MAGES IN LORENT: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This map is dangerous for the solo mage. Such a feat would be most impressive :) There are however some new and potent spells for mages to enjoy. Additionally there are now Combat and Nature magic summons to be used in the game. Having said that, mages ARE a crucial part of a COL party. Be sure to plan a balanced party than can take advantage of the new and unique spells. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx SPECIAL NOTE ABOUT THE FINALE SEQUENCE: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- When preparing for the finale sequence - due to limitations in my abilities as a code writer - you need to avoid leaving the Lair (after a certain point this is almost impossible - and for good reason). As soon as you enter the lair events are linked in ways that get significantly disrupted should you leave the lair region. Please stock up on lots of potions and any special items you think you need. And please save your game at the following points: 1) Just before entering the underground lair 2) Just after defeating the first 9 greater Dah'wah 3) Just after opening the door to the final Lair area Attempting to save the game after these points will possibly lead to a corrupt save game file and will potentially mess up the chain of events for the finale. This is not as much a bug as it is a limit in my abilities - I'll try and get better for any future versions or expansions :) xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx SUMMARY OF KNOWN ISSUES: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1) NPC's are fun in Multiplayer solo games - but create strange problems when playing in a party of human players. (character icons are covered up by the NPC icon portraits) 2) The finale sequence creates some issues with save-games files (follow the instructions above to best protect yourself) xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx FUTURE PLANS: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- There are several plans for expansions. Well, there are LOTS of plans for expansions actually :) (I hope you all like the first version- I'd hate to stop now!) xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx COMPATABILITY: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Circle of Lorent Mods contain almost 100% original and unique content and template names. There are two exceptions: 1) Files used in Mod called: "The Cube of Azunai" are included and upgraded in this mod, remove the old cube mod from your resource folder if you have it installed. 2) Yesterhaven content is included in this mod - unless you edited the original files there should be no conflict. There are a number of SFX effects, custom items, and custom skrits written by Icemage and Xaa that are used in this mod. All the names for these have been slightly changed to prevent any chance of a compatibility conflict. If you suspect a conflict other than those mentioned - please email me: trailstorm@onebox.com xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx USING CONTENT FROM THE CIRCLE OF LORENT: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Circle of Lorent contains many custom creations that took months to develop and create. If you want to use any of the content in another mod or a map, I would like you to ask me for permission first. To quote Witness, "It goes without saying that all authors and contributors need to be given credit somewhere for any of their work used in your mod." Or said another way, Give Credit Where Credit is Due! It is my intention to develop an improved version of the COL template system and certain monsters into a product to be used for other mod and map makers. For this reason as well - I reiterate that you must obtain my permission before including any portion of this map or mod in your own creations. I can be reached via email at trailstorm@onebox.com xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx CREDITS: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- While The Circle of Lorent is a solo project, I have received great help along the way. The following individuals have helped make this possible: Witness- for promoting all things Dungeon Siege, especially this map. For setting up the COL website. For being a beta tester and provider of great feedback. For being the web genius needed to compensate for my complete lack of web-coolness. Xaa - for teaching and freely offering skrit used in the mod portion of this map. For beta testing and providing great feedback. The following files were written by Xaa: xaa_item_set_bool.skrit xaa_item_set_master_component.skrit xaa_item_haste.skrit xaa_spell_combine.skrit xaa_spell_summon_object.skrit as well as skrit and templates needed for one of the special NPCs SvS - for testing this map and mod at every step of the creation - from start to finish. And also for being a friend in this modding world of DS :) Icemage - for testing and providing feedback. For freely offering skrit and effects used in the mod portion of this map. For being so damn good at modding! The following files were written by Icemage: ice_item_fx_player_attach.skrit as well as a few of the custom effects Interested - for testing, providing feedback, and for being an idea sounding board. Lloyd - for testing and for providing feedback. Everclearules20 - for testing, providing great feedback, and offering some excellent solutions to problems in the flow of the map. You are Dneirfa! HydromancerX - for so many cool ideas - and inspiration in efforts to develop crafting. arZtoKku - for being the early advocate and the first person to help promote my map-making efforts. I still don't really know how to make a web-page :) Nu - for making skin selecting soooo much faster than my old techniques! Shul-Socrath - for the charm skrit. Calix - for instructions on Region Splitting. GPG - for great support and an awesome platfrom from user creations :)
