A cheat detector for hosting games. It detects double prefix/suffix, gom spells, and optionally gold hacks. Also has setting for strict inventory (checks for prefix/suffixes that came with the original game). Must install winpcap before usage (included in zip).

DSGuard.txt

DSGuard 1.0a The purpose of the program is to check player inventory and make sure they’re not using hacked items, such as “of colossus ring of colossus” which gives you +22 Strength. The program has a few options you can check. REQUIREMENT: You must be hosting the game. The program will not detect anything if you are not the host. If your concerned about cheating then host your game, with Dsguard running, or choose a game that uses the program. Strict Inventory – When this option is checked the program will not just alert on double prefix/suffix inventory items and gom spells. But it will also alert on prefixes or suffixes that it doesn’t identify. Meaning perhaps you have an item from a custom map in your inventory “sword of dragon slaying” for instance. It will alert on that. When this option is unchecked, it will only check for double prefix/suffixes, and gom spells. Gold Check – This will check the players gold setting. If its greater than 9999999 (the default maximum allowed) it will alarm. Some people feel that the games limitation is a problem so this is an option you can uncheck. Usage: The program starts as shown above. To begin you must select an Adapter from the Adapter menu list. The adapter list may show NdisWan adapters, generally it is whichever is your network card name. (ie. 3Com Etherlink etc.) After which you will select your options to your preference, and hit the Start button. After hitting Start you can start Dungeonsiege. The program will watch incoming users as you host. The program will also alert on you. When the program detects a cheat it will play an alert sound. (I haven’t figured out how to make it send you a network message yet, perhaps in version 2) It will also put what kind of cheat it detected in the list box on the program. At that point you can choose to eject the player or not, (I haven’t figured out the eject piece yet either). Software requirements: WinPcap Library I included in the archive file. It also can be downloaded from http://winpcap.polito.it/ Without the winpcap library installed the program will not run, so be sure you run the winpcap library install before attempting to run the Dsguard app. DSGuard is use-at-your-own-risk-ware. Meaning if your machine explodes or gnomes come to live in your computer case or any disaster insues while using this program, you were warned first and there is no warranty on the program for fitness for any purpose, not even as a paperweight. If you have any comments, suggestions on the program send me an e-mail at: vmaxx@ipshadow.com and I’ll try and respond.
