Spell Book Upgrade v0.5
This a small, but useful, mod for Dungeon Siege - this is my first mod so it may have some bugs
(but none I have found yet) and I am not responsible for any damage this mod does to
your computer, saved files or anything else.
Items that can now go into spell books:
*spells (duh)
*other spell books
What this mod does:
* Gives each item (see above list) a magic type such as combat or nature magic.
* Each spell book can hold 12 spells but can also be placed into other spell books.
* When a spell book is inside another spell book, it can be used as a close-ranged
relatively weak spell based on your current level in that magic type.
This means that spell books can be put into other spell books for storage or "attacking."
*NOTE: Magical spell books cannot be bought at shops at the moment, but they can be dropped
by enemies that would normally drop higher level spells - but it is rare.
*NOTE: The new spell books do not display what their prefixes and suffixes do, but they do
still work and will effect you in the exact same way they did before installing this mod.
How to use this mod:
Put the .dsres file into your Dungeon SiegeResources directory and start the game.
You will notice that all of your spell books have a magic type.
********To place a spell book within another spell book:
Make sure your active spell book has an empty slot and right-click on another
spell book in your inventory. It will be placed in your active spell book in the
first available slot.
*NOTE: Click and dragging is not implemented yet and probably won't be because the
gui does not like it :D
********To View a spell book:
Put the spell book you want to view as your active spell book and click the arrow
next to the active spell book slot - don't try to right-click on the spell book
to read it, right-click just adds it to your current spell book, sorry.
I know it is a little hard of an interface to deal with, but this is a work-around that could be
possible for other types of items (armor, weapons, etc.) Maybe someone with a little more
knowledge about the ui and skrit could smooth out the interface, but unlimited spell books sounds
pretty good to me right now. :)
