Dungeon Siege: Yesterhaven Readme File May 2002 (c)2002 Gas Powered Games Corp. All Rights Reserved. Gas Powered Games and Dungeon Siege are the exclusive trademarks of Gas Powered Games Corp. Welcome to Dungeon Siege: Yesterhaven Thank you for installing Dungeon Siege: Yesterhaven from Gas Powered Games! This Readme file contains the most recent information concerning the game. Contents A. Introduction B. Requirements for Play C. Installer information D. Background Story E. Gameplay Hints E. Troubleshooting A. Introduction Yesterhaven is an extension to the gameplay and story of The Kingdom of Ehb and the Utraean Peninsula. Yesterhaven is a multiplayer-only short story, which does not require a pre-existing character, nor any previous experience with Dungeon Siege. Yesterhaven can be played in Normal mode as appropriate with new characters, or saved characters from previous Dungeon Siege play. Once installed, Dungeon Siege: Yesterhaven will be the only map choice in the multiplayer menu, with start locations of Chapter 1, Chapter 2, or Chapter 3. It is strongly recommended that first-time players begin the story at Chapter 1 with a newly created character. B. Requirements for Play Yesterhaven requires that you own a copy of Dungeon Siege and that your system meets the minimum requirements on the box. C. Installer information To install Dungeon Siege: Yesterhaven, double click the installer icon. The Yesterhaven files will automatically be installed into the default Dungeon Siege directory. To play Dungeon Siege: Yesterhaven, you must use the Dungeon Siege: Yesterhaven icon that is located on your desktop. Be aware that you cannot run the Yesterhaven Map through the original Dungeon Siege icon. D. Background Story The story of Yesterhaven begins shortly after the events within 'The Kingdom of Ehb', in a small, quiet valley at the Northwestern border of the Kingdom. The valley bears the ruins of Yesterhaven; which was an Imperial hamlet, and is rumored to be haunted by cursed spirits from centuries past. The story of Yesterhaven remains to be told by those who can unlock its secrets. E. Gameplay Hints • In Chapter 1, follow the fairy into the center of the Yesterhaven Ruins. To begin the story, all players in the area must be standing within the circles inscribed into the stone of the Obelisk in the center of the ruined town. • In each Chapter, there is one direction of travel that continues the story. The direction can be identified by the highlightable sign post in the center of town and by open gates at the town’s edge. • If a player joins a game in progress to an earlier chapter, the player may meet up with the rest of the party by traveling through the gates that lead to the next story area and taking the lift beyond. In Chapter 1, it is the eastern gates that become unlocked, and in Chapter 2, the southern gates become useable. Be aware that the previous Chapter’s gates do not become unlocked until the party has advanced to the next Chapter within that game session. • If you are unsure where to acquire the first quest in Chapter 1, try searching all of the houses for townspeople to speak to before leaving town. F. Troubleshooting Known issues with running the game or finding compatible multiplayer games are listed below.
