Ranks

In the game you receive the rank, depending on in which skills your character excels. For example, if you train your character purely in the melee, you will be Champion at level 50. If you are Knight at lvl. 49 melee and you ranged skill get on lvl 20, you'll be Campaigner. There is many combinations and each combination has its pros and cons.
